03/02/2016 – Music Hall of Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY.

Stepping into the Music Hall of Williamsburg, your gaze is immediately drawn to the stage with the microphones and drums adorned by flowers. The self-described psych-pop group, SUNBEARS! was the perfect opener for the night. Despite a hiccup involving a brief power outage on stage, the audience was treated to an upbeat, feel-good set from the Jacksonville natives, which set the mood perfectly for Johnnyswim to take the stage. From the moment Abner Ramirez and Amanda Sudano-Ramirez took the stage, it was evident that they were all there for their fans. The popular husband-and-wife duo could not have put on a stronger show. The set list, curated based on requests from fans, featured hit songs such as “Don’t Let It Get You Down” and “Live While We’re Young,” as well as their own spins of pop songs including “Hotline Bling” (Drake) and “Can’t Help Falling In Love”(Elvis). In between songs, the two would speak to the crowd as if everyone there was a close friend of theirs; Abner quipped that the two started the band to “make out and make babies” and Amanda remembered fans that had been at their Christmas show from two years ago. It’s not often you get the chance to experience as personal and interactive show as the one Johnnyswim put on at the Music Hall of Williamsburg.
