There’s something truly spectacular about the charisma and passion that The Griswolds bring onto the stage every night. Native Australians, The Griswolds are an energetic foursome comprised of vocalist Chris Whitehall, guitarist Dan Duque-Perez, bassist Tim John and drummer Lachlan West. I first saw them perform just over a year ago when they opened for Walk The Moon on the Talking is Hard Tour in San Diego, CA and felt an instant attraction to their energy. The group has been performing songs off their debut album, Be Impressive and Heart of Lion EP for years now, but this time, on The Hotline Spring Tour with Magic Man and Panama Wedding, the band has added songs from their anticipated second record set to release sometime next year. Since this is a co-headlining tour, some fans in the crowd are unfamiliar with The Griswolds, which makes for a really special feel throughout the air as the band performs and the room explodes with excitement– new fans and old. Lead vocalist, Chris Whitehall is exuberant and bright as he jumps around the stage and leaps into the crowd, engaging with fans in a way that I’ve never seen before. The room is absolutely buzzing, and the band is just as electrified as the dancers in the pit. As they wrap up their set, one thing remains for sure: it’s always a good time with The Griswolds.
