06/28/18 – Belasco Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
An abundance of neon lights and backdrops that spelled out “Palo Santo” in the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles alluded to the electrifying night that Years & Years had in store. Frontman Olly Alexander commanded the stage in patent leather pants and showed that Years & Years are not afraid to stand out. The London based indie pop band kicked off the night of a sold-out show with “Sanctify” and “Shine,” tracks off of from both of their albums. Whether from the front of the crowd or up on the balcony, Years & Years managed to capture the attention of each and every member of the audience. “Palo Santo” unapologetically explores themes of sexuality and religion, and it’s safe to say that the album has made them one of most relevant and dynamic up-and-coming bands in pop today.
