Brooklyn Paramount in Brooklyn, NY — June 20, 2025

Whenever I tell people that BANKS has been one of my favorite artists since 2014, their immediate question is “What kind of music does she make?” As BANKS graced the stage on June 20th at the historic Brooklyn Paramount for the Off With Her Head tour, it was no question that she is a cross-genre wonder, mastering the iconic ballad “Beggin For Thread” all the way to the bass-thrumming anthem, “I Hate Your Ex-Girlfriend.” A one woman show, BANKS was electric, captivating the audience through synth filled contemporary R&B with beats you could feel deep in your chest, transforming into bodies swaying back and forth at the climax of the song as she danced across the piano. As she left the stage throwing individual red roses into the audience, it mirrored the music she makes: deeply heartfelt but extremely personal.
