Show Recap: From Indian Lakes - Local Wolves

Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, NY — June 14, 2024

From Indian Lakes packed out Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn on June 14th. The smell of incense wafting throughout the room, a large projector screen displaying various nature scenes, and Joey Vannuchi’s ethereal vocals bewitched fans into a hypnotic experience just after a harsh evening downpour. Brooklyn—what is now the indie capital of New York—provided the perfect backdrop for dreamy soundscapes from the California rock band. The band is currently touring their latest album, Head Void which combines shoegaze influences with their classic indie rock sound and thought-provoking lyrics. The band played through the entirety of the 10 track album and included at least one to two songs from the entirety of their 15 year discography. The band executed each song with musical excellence captivating the audience and cultivating a sense of camaraderie amongst the fans. Even the opener, Dirt Buyer, was seen enchanted by the headliner. The night ended with lead vocalist, Joey performing acoustic versions of two favorites: “ULS” and “Sunlight.” With a few more shows left on this tour, it’s time to get familiar with “Head Void” and everything else by From Indian Lakes.
