August Hall in San Francisco, CA — April 15, 2025

Earlier this week, alt-rock band Hitsujibungaku brings their captivating melodies to San Francisco for a sold-out show at August Hall. Coming from Japan, this show is part of their first-ever tour in the United States, titled the US West Coast Tour. Hitsujibungaku consists of three members: Moeka Shiozuka as main vocalist and guitarist, Yurika as bassist, and Hiroa Fukuda as drummer. Throughout the evening, fans were entranced by the band’s dreamy sounds and at the same time infected by their bouncy enthusiasm. While fans were cheering all night, you could hear the extra excitement once the band started to play “more than words,” which was a song a part of the soundtrack for popular anime series Jiujitsu Kaisen. Additional performances include the songs “声 (Koe),” “Burning,” and “1999.” After the show, VIP ticket-holders could enjoy a meet-and-greet experience with the band, who were very friendly and wholesome. Hitsujibungaku will head to Portland, OR for the last stop of their US tour before returning home.
