The Factory in Dallas, TX — October 19, 2024

There’s no doubt that Suki Waterhouse is The Cool Girl. She’s multitalented, ethereal, funny, and carries herself with an uncommon graciousness. On top of all of that, she named her album after a rare Australian spider that she discovered one night during an internet doom scroll. She’s relatable, yet still otherworldly. She strikes this perfect balance in her current Sparklemuffin tour, offsetting her celestial costumes and otherworldly set design with her kind and sweet interactions with the crowd. On the third night of her tour, she played The Factory in Dallas, Texas and expressed her gratitude for the crowd multiple times. She performed the lion share of her new album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin, but mixed in past hits like “The Devil I Know,” “Johanna,” and “Moves.” Throughout her set, she danced across the stage in an ethereal way reminiscent of Stevie Nicks, and even asked for “help” from the Texas crowd when playing her ‘attempt at a country song’ called “Think Twice.” She closed the set with “Good Looking,” a huge crowd favorite and one of her first hits, and played “Brutally” as the first part of her encore. She explained that the song represented her experience with feeling lost, and how “when it feels like you’re at the end of something, you’re at the beginning of something else.” Despite being a model and actress (as embodied by her final encore track, “Model, Actress, Whatever”), on top of having a music career, Suki has clearly maintained a warm and appreciative disposition, and you really can’t help falling in love with her.
