The Independent in San Francisco, CA— February 19, 2025

It’s a sold-out Wednesday evening in the NOPA district of San Francisco. PIAO had just warmed up the crowd with her set as opener, leaving everyone in a buzz and excitedly waiting for the headlining show. Then, as everyone’s chatting amongst themselves, the venue lights black out. Instrumentals begin to fill the space, cueing in the strobe and bar lights that direct all attention to the stage. The sounds of synths, hi-hats, and snares gradually layer themselves in an auditory build-up that’s emphasized by the intensifying colors and flashes of the lights. As the instrumentals crescendo and just about reach a peak, the music immediately calms and the lights black out again. In that next moment, “WHAT AM I RUNNING FROM” begins to play and the stage lights up once more as Tiffany Day runs onto the stage.

The Los Angeles-based popstar brings her energetic artistry back to San Francisco as she marks the start of her LOVER TOFU FRUIT tour, performing tracks from both her recent debut album (of the same name) as well as from her discography from the last few years. Tiffany delivered electrifying performances of tracks such as “HELLA BOY CRAZY,” “DREAMS ABT OPTIMISM,” “LOYOLA,” “CALONE,” and “SIMON SAID.” What made her show more unique was when she took to the turntable to showcase her melodic EDM mixes and even joined the audience for a mosh pit. This sets her apart from other artists as she finds unconventional yet fun ways to connect and interact with her fans. Her tour will continue to nine other cities including Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Toronto, where more fans will gather and share the excitement of Tiffany’s popstar energy and addicting sound production.
