Live music fans have something major to look forward to in 2025!

The 6th annual Kilby Block Party features headliners Beach House, Weezer, Justice, and New Order, debuting the festival’s first ever 4-day weekend. This can’t-miss weekend all takes place in downtown SLC at the Utah State Fair Park on May 15th-18th, 2025.

Since Kilby Block Party’s first inaugural festival in 2019, the iconic indie music festival has featured dozens of well-known artists. While the festival has always skewed towards the indie/alternative rock genres, heavy-hitting French House duo Justice joins this year’s lineup and adds a grand electronic music presence. Justice’s fourth studio album Hyperdrama released in April of last year and has been nominated for two Grammy awards— Best Dance/Electronic Album, and Best Dance/Electronic Recording for their song, “Neverender” featuring Kevin Parker of Tame Impala. Is it possible that Kilby Block Party attendees could be treated to a special guest appearance by Kevin Parker during Justice’s set?

Legendary rock band New Order also hits an important mark in the festival’s history, being one of the most historic bands to grace the KBP lineup. Forming in England in 1980, New Order spearheaded the New Wave music movement of the 1980’s, combining many elements of dance, electronic, and rock into one infectious sound, most known on their hits “Blue Monday,” “Bizarre Love Triangle,” “Age of Consent” and “Dreams Never End.”

Along the all-star headliners, here’s a couple of sets that you won’t want to miss:

SLOWDIVE

Slowdive took a 20+ year gap between their third and fourth studio albums (Pygmalion and Slowdive respectively), using that time to develop and mature their sound as a group. One of the most well-known bands in the shoegaze genre, Slowdive’s live set will be filled with lush dreamy vocals and shimmery guitar riffs, marking an iconic performance for any festival goer.

THE LEMON TWIGS

For fans of 70s era rock and roll, The Lemon Twigs’ 2024 release A Dream Is All We Know combines stellar songwriting and infectious melodies for a seamless album. Hailing from Long Island, NY, brothers Brian and Michael D’Addario embody what it really means to be a rockstar.

GEESE

The 5-piece band from Brooklyn excels at their unique brand of blues, country, and post punk. Lead singer/keyboardist of Geese, Cameron Winter’s unique vocals pair well with the band’s reckless and untamed cadence that translates well to recorded tracks, but sounds even better onstage!

FROST CHILDREN

A duo that grew its roots deep within electronica and internet culture, Frost Children’s crunchy production techniques and off-kilter tones have amassed a devout fanbase. There’s no better way to get a sense of just how unique Frost Children’s music is than experiencing it for yourself in person.

THE BLACK ANGELS

Heavy, wild, smoky, brooding… like a leather jacket-wearing, cigarette-smoking, motorcycle-riding character, The Black Angels make rock music that just feels cool. Easily fitting into any stellar movie sequence, this band cranks it up to 11, and their live set will most likely be heard from several blocks away.

GIVING BACK

Along with creating a great lineup of artists and a fun and inviting atmosphere for creatives and music lovers to thrive, the festival is determined to give back to their community. KBP supports local charities by donating portions of festival proceeds each year, with this year’s recipients being Equality Utah, Spyhop, and HEAL Utah.

According to the official Kilby Block Party site, “Our dream with KBP is to recreate the supportive atmosphere of this beloved venue by bringing together SLC’s music community with some of our favorite artists. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has helped make Kilby Block Party special over the years, and we look forward to celebrating with you again in 2025 for Kilby Court’s 26th birthday!”

KBP tickets are out now, with single-day and 3-day options available. Fans can also purchase VIP and Super VIP options, which allow Fast-Lane festival entrance and re-entry, access to VIP viewing decks, and exclusive local food trucks. For more information, check out their official website here!
