The Power and Duality of a Woman - Local Wolves

About 10 months ago my life changed, what I thought was going to be my life for the next 3 years vanished right in front of my eyes. I hit rock bottom, it was dark and ugly down there, a miserable place, I can say I lost myself completely. But with the help of the women in my life, I was slowly able to stand on my feet again. That’s when I realized that girlhood is so important in our lives, the connection a woman has with another woman is magical, we watch our sisters crumble, rebuild, grow, transform, and become. I started to go into a sort of transformation while my creativity poured, I started creating with my pain, and growth started happening at the same time. That’s when my project “The Power and Duality of a Woman” was born, I wanted to take photographs that expressed the powerful duality that women embody.

For the first time in my life, I saw what the women around me have gone through, how they conquered every obstacle and remained delicate and raw with the World around them. I understood what it means to be a woman and how powerful it can be.

I wanted to show the power of embracing your pain, taking control of the transformation, and letting yourself be. Since women are the Symbol of Life, I decided to surround my models with Nature and Animals (there’s nothing more pure). To represent the fragile, delicate, and rawness of a woman. Yet, the poses and expressions do not match the overall setting, since I wanted to emphasize a different sentiment – vulnerability, pain, and growth.

Life is an ongoing transformation, this is only a new beautiful beginning for me but I’ve grown so much in the past 10 months and I owe it all to women in my life.
