Domaine national de Saint Cloud in Paris, FR — August 20 – August 24, 2025

Rock en Seine, one of France’s staple festivals, celebrated its 20th edition in Paris from August 20th to August 24th, 2025. The iconic festival happened over the span of five days with a lineup comprising of 89 artists, spread out across five stages. The festival drew more than 150,000 people to its grounds, with a lineup featuring artists such as Chappell Roan, Kid Cudi, Empire of the Sun, Jorja Smith, Wallows and many more.

Rock en Seine’s first day might have started with a gloomy weather, it did not stop fans from dressing up and showing up for their favorite artist’s favorite artist. With a lineup full of women, Chappell Roan was undoubtedly the main event of the day. This was her first performance in the country since December 2023, and people queued up early in the morning for her.

The sun came back for the following days as people came from all over Europe to dance and sing along to their favorite songs. Aurora’s performance might have been one of the most emotionally powerful of the whole event, bringing people together while Empire of the Sun made people dance for their entire set.

On a different register, French band Last Train’s performance was one for the books, with high energy and great crowd interactions. Finally, Kneecap were probably one of the most talked about; their set started with their acknowledgement of the political climate surrounding Palestine, and they made sure throughout to keep a safe place for their audience.

As for the emerging artists, Tout le Monde S’appelle Clara celebrated their first anniversary by performing at Rock en Seine, with their first single coming out very soon in September. Rock en Seine doesn’t only put emphasis on the diversity of music of its artists, it prides itself on being politically engaged and to uplift as many as possible. The festival put in place several workshops at the festival, and volunteers were present all around the grounds to either educate people on ecology and a safe place for everyone.
