07/14/18 – Irving Plaza in New York, NY.
The crowd was incendiary, the lights were hypnotizing and the band’s performance was remarkable.
We caught the Canadian, indie-rock group Calpurnia at their sold-out show at Irving Plaza in New York City on Saturday night. The set opened with the band’s contagious high energy and their retro sound.
Malcolm had the groovy beats, connecting the 70’s feel in the bands sounds while Finn’s funky rhythm helped lead Jack into the crowd for some old fashioned crowd surfing at the rock gig. Ayla represented all bad ass women in music with her insane guitar playing & dreamy vocals.
This band proves that no matter what age, whatever inspires you, can lead you to another world of creative visions and sounds. This is a band we recommend seeing or hearing because the experience is so much more than just that.
