Wallows, a surf pop three piece comprised of LA natives Cole Preston, Braeden Lemasters and Dylan Minnette– delivered a room shaking performance at Mercury Lounge on August 14th. They brought along bassist Zack Mendenhall to bring to life the punchy baselines heard on singles “Pleaser” and “Sun Tan.” With only two releases available online for streaming, the enthusiasm in the crowd reflected that of a band with a much more extensive catalogue. They erupted in hopeful cheers at the mention of a possible tour and record release, a hint at a successful future career. Despite the summer heat and steamy sold out room, Wallows kept the energy high and the delivery tight. It’s clear from their passion and proficiency that this band is not only here to stay, but here to blow us away from the moment they arrive.
