Perspectives submission by photographer, Dustin Giallanza: “This shoot is part of an ongoing film portrait series focusing on queer artists, creatives, and leaders. I began this project after two queer family members came to me for support with the mental health struggles they were facing. As a love letter to them, I resolved to produce work that showcased loving representations of queer people that authentically embrace and celebrate who they are. Being able to work on this project with my partner, Calvin Seabrooks as Art Director has been a truly rewarding experience for us both. As a former dancer and artist myself, this shoot holds strong ties to my love of Rodin’s sculptures and paintings. After a serendipitous meeting with Houston Ballet Soloist, Harper Watters, everything just fell into place.”
