3/21/2017 – Troubadour, West Hollywood, CA.

After attending Maggie Rogers’ show at the Troubadour, I’ve come to realize that Rogers’ is everything I am striving to be in life. She’s humble, she’s talented, she’s unknowingly witty, she’s unapologetically herself, and not to mention she’s also so hip and trendy (I mean just look at her white fringe jacket). The general admission floor at the troubadour filled early in the evening, hundreds of fans anxiously awaiting the ambient folky dance tracks Rogers’ would soon share with the sold out crowd. Through her well known singles such as “Alaska” and” On + Off”, and also through covers such as Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”, Rogers’ voice displayed such raw talent. Flashes of colored light matched the patches on Rogers’ jacket as she danced and sang effortlessly through the hour long set. Her song writing skills are so beyond incredible, with lyrics echoing the feelings of love, rage, joy, heartache, pain, and the emotional journey of finding ones self in the world. The room laughed with her, cried with her, and danced the night away with her and I promise that when Maggie Rogers returns to LA, it’ll once again be a show you don’t want to miss!
