Texas Trust CU Theatre Grounds in Dallas, TX — June 6-11, 2023

The Re:SET concert series kicked off with a bang in Dallas on June 9th. With Boygenius as the headliner, swarms of Boygenius fans braved the Texas heat to see their favorite trio perform. Many fans were dressed up for the occasion, wearing white button-downs and ties much like the “boys” of Boygenius.

Day 2 was just as sweltering as the previous day but that did not prevent concert-goers from attending Re:SET to see Steve Lacy and friends. The day consisted of wonderful performances by Foushee, Toro y Moi, and James Blake before the night came to an end with Steve Lacy’s much-anticipated return to Dallas. During his performance, Foushee joined him onstage for his song, “Sunshine.” Lacy also performed “Bad Habit”, a fan favorite that left the audience passionately singing the lyrics back to him.

The bill for Day 3 consisted of headliner LCD Soundsystem, Big Freedia, Idles, and Jamie XX. Sadly, the final day of Re:Set came to a halt when lightning was detected in the Dallas area and subsequently led to the festival being canceled mid-schedule as conditions grew too unsafe to continue the show. On the bright side, attendees were able to dance with Big Freedia and be blown away by British punk outfit, Idles, before their set was stopped due to the weather. Though Day 3 came to an early end, unfortunately, the Re:SET concert series was an enjoyable time for concert-goers to kickstart their summer by listening to an array of such wonderful artists in a scaled-down festival format.
