Isabel LaRosa has made a riveting footprint on the pop music scene, with passion filled ballads and riveting fusions of the alternative and pop genres. Pulling inspiration from her musical family and personal tales of love and loss, the fast rising songstress discusses with us the impact of her debut album Raven, the whirlwind of her headlining Psychopomp tour, and future passion projects we all should look forward to.

You just wrapped your headlining tour Psychopomp. Is there a particular city that you’ve visited that you resonated with personally?

I feel like Toronto was just such an insane show. Just the crowd was crazy there and it took me completely by surprise. I feel like that one specifically was a very fun show to play.

You’ll be joining two major festivals this summer with Lollapalooza and Governors Ball in New York pending. How does performing intimate shows on tour compare to playing at festivals?

I feel like it’s a different thing. I feel like at festivals you don’t know who’s there for you, and so it’s almost like you have to win them over a little bit more. It’s a less controlled environment, which makes it so fun. I’m very excited to be playing them and to see what kind of new fans I potentially make, hopefully.

You got an early start on your music career, joining your brother and father to open mic nights in your hometown. What are some practices you still carry with you today from your early days on a stage?

Hopefully my show’s evolved a little bit. I feel like just the knowledge that I try to just be as entertaining as possible. It also reminds me to just not take anything for granted because I know what both ends of the spectrum feel like. It’s just helpful for me to keep in mind and not lose what that feels like.

Your brother Thomas is your writing partner and producer as well. How do you both balance your professional and sibling relationship with one another?

I feel like it’s honestly pretty easy because we’ve worked together for so long. It doesn’t even feel separate anymore, it just kind of is. We can get so lost in work that reminding ourselves to hang out and not write is really important. He’s the best and I am so grateful for him and you know, it’s very easy for us to balance that.

Your debut album Raven released last month. Did you expect your debut album to take you on a nationwide tour?

You know, I wasn’t sure. I didn’t think so. I also was so nervous about dropping an album for so long that I had no idea what to expect. But the fact that I’m able to do it is very surreal and I’m very grateful for it. I just did not really expect anything that’s happening currently.

You wrote and directed the music video for your single “Favorite.” Do you see yourself leaning into more directing and storytelling for your future music projects?

Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I’ve directed all my videos so far and it’s something that is really, really important to me. Because I am a control freak and it’s hard for me to let anyone else execute what is in my head. I would love to even make a movie one day or something bigger than that.

You were named a 2025 “Emerging Artist” by PEOPLE and “Best New Musicians” for InStyle. Are there any fellow emerging artists you hope to collaborate with in the future?

There’s so many sick artists right now that I’m obsessed with. Jessie Murph is incredible. She’s been doing it for a while, but I feel like it’s on the come up. Julia Wolf is really, really incredible. Nessa Barrett, obviously. Those are a few of them, Snow Strippers I think is really, really, really cool. I would love to do something with them.

Are there any upcoming projects you’re looking forward to embarking on now that you have wrapped the Psychopomp tour?

I feel like it’s just fun to be able to look and start working on the next thing. I am trying to take everything in as it happens right now, but I am always planning for the next thing, and I’m really excited. I’m working on a lot of concepts for songs and videos right now that I’m very, very excited about.
