On one of the last warm nights of the summer, Chvrches played the Central Park Summerstage, the outdoor venue and humidity made it a little uncomfortable pre-set; but once the trio took the stage, no one could complain. Since their last show in New York City, Chvrches and frontwoman Lauren Mayberry have received global media coverage for speaking out against the incredible misogyny and abuse that leading women in music receive a topic that has needed to be addressed for a long time. Mayberry has done an amazing job facilitating a dialogue that gets ignored too often. In the last year, their live sound has become exceptionally refined and with the release of their 2015 album, Every Eye Open their onstage energy has a different vibe than their previous shows I have attended. Front woman, Lauren Mayberry has taken her presence up more than a few notches and created a wonderful aura that is extremely enjoyable to watch.
