Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA — October 6, 2023

Kicking off an album cycle with a sold out release show at the historic Troubadour in West Hollywood is no small feat. But for Mitch Rowland, guitarist and frequent collaborator to Harry Styles, an album of his own was always going to be knocked out of the park. The immersive and expansive Come June filled the room with a 70’s-vibe lush Americana, evoking the heroes of the past who have graced the same famed stage. Rowland feels fully comfortable in his role as a band leader, expertly navigating guitar riffs and steady vocals. His wife, Sarah Jones—whom he met on tour with Styles—holds down the rhythm on drums, and the clear connection between the two is the foundation for a performance that feels so rooted to the stage its like it was grown there. There was also more to celebrate than just the album release: it was Rowland and Jones’s anniversary, and the band sweetly took a moment to toast the two. The crowd was attentive and had clear love for Rowland, ready to support him on all the twists and turns of his solo music endeavors in the same way they scream his name and hold up signs just for him in arenas across the globe. Although this album is a debut, Mitch Rowland needs no time at all to find his footing in this new world— he was made for it.
