Perspectives submission by photographer, Larena Nellies-Ortiz: “I wanted to capture the ephemeral and playful essence of being in a garden at golden hour in this shoot. Incorporating plants, petals and foliage was a way to explore the companionship and reliance on nature and each other, and the necessity of fostering those bonds through joy and exploration. As we laughed and giddily buzzed around the neighborhood chasing the best light, adjusting petals and appreciating the colors and textures around us, it became apparent how nourishing and important play is to the creative process. As the seasons change and the days grow shorter, I hope these images are a reminder of the availability of beautiful simple things, chief among them, friendship and nature.”
