Perspectives

Perspectives submission by photographer, Curtis-Lee McDonnell: “I’ve always been fascinated by other cultures. Visiting Tibet, for me, was something I never dreamed of doing until early 2022. I bought a bunch of Kodak Gold film, packed my Nikon FM2 and got on the plane. I wanted to use photography to document the people of Tibet. The locals and travelers that I met there are some of the kindest, warmest people I’ve ever met. They were always happy to speak to you and spend some time talking about their amazing home. The landscape in Tibet is otherworldly and acts as an incredible backdrop to whatever is standing in front of it. I felt so inspired taking pictures in Tibet because of the color scheme the whole region has; red, yellow and white. These colors all helped blend the images together in a project and getting the film scans back was a great experience as I got to relive the whole trip again.”
