On December 10th at The Echo in Los Angeles, Asha Banks delivered a compelling and memorable performance that marked her first headline show in North America and the official kick-off of her ‘How Real Was It?’ tour. Banks, a British singer-songwriter and actress, stepped onto the Echo stage with an intimate confidence that set the tone for the evening. From the moment she took the mic, she brought a fresh energy and emotional honesty that blended beautifully with her rich collection of songs. Banks played an array of songs from both her newest EP, How Real Was It and her first EP, Untie My Tongue. Songs like “Feel The Rush” and “Rerun” resonated deeply with the attentive crowd, showcasing her blend of raw lyricism and melodic introspection that has defined her sound. What stood out most to everyone in the room was Banks’s ability to connect— she invited the audience into her world. Her performance balanced vulnerability with subtle power, making the quiet moments feel electrifying. Banks had encouraged fans to write letters and bring them to the show and grab one on their way out as a way to connect to one another on a deeper level. At one point fans also held up a sign that said “It feels unreal to be at your first ever tour, so proud,“ which is a testament to how truly dedicated Asha’s fans are. Words can only scratch the surface when it comes to describing how magical of a show Asha and her band put on.
