Round Rock Amphitheater in Austin, TX — November 2 & 3, 2024

The inaugural YAR (Young Asians Represent) Festival in Austin, Texas, was the state’s first Asian music festival, and it did not disappoint. Taking place on the first weekend of November, the two-day event taking place at Round Rock Amphitheater featured many Asian artists, including headliner Agnes Mo, Tiffany Day, Sunkis, Rei Ami, Kire and many more!

DAY 1

The gates opened Saturday afternoon, and immediately festival goers were greeted with a huge ‘YAR’ inflatable to take pictures with. A multitude of vendors occupied the lawn, selling goodies from street foods to keychains and bracelets. The cloudy weather made perfect weather, providing cool shade in the Texas heat. Andy Yu took the stage and charmed the crowd with his charismatic energy. He engaged the audience by teaching sing-along lyrics that created a lively atmosphere. Artist, JONAVI followed suit with her amazing vocals. She performed songs from her discography, such as “Peaches” and “Blue Hour.” Later that evening, Rei Ami lit up the stage with her unapologetic attitude. Donning a bold red coat, the singer performed big songs that encouraged confidence. Afterwards, singer Kire took the festival by storm with his sensual songs and even invited a fan onstage to dance with.

She educated the crowd about her heritage through her lyrics and songs. Singer, Tiffany Day immediately followed with her electric set. Her excitement and energy made every fan jump and dance. Artist Sunkis then captivated the audience with tunes in his native language. He made sure to have a variety of songs ranging from dance to slow songs. Finally, Agnez Mo closed out the festival. Her stage was incredibly lively as she brought out another artist, Justin Park. The two also came down into the pit area and made sure to dance with fans.
