Lucy Dacus closed out her “Forever Is a Feeling” tour on September 13th at the Hollywood Bowl. She was backed by the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra under conductor, Thomas Wilkins with Cat Power opening for the night. The show marked the final stop of this era.

Phoenix Rousiamani, a friend and member of Dacus’ band, wrote the orchestral arrangements for the night, transforming even her most familiar songs into something new. The set opened with a run of tracks off Forever Is a Feeling, including “Hot & Heavy” and “Ankles,” before Dacus wove in older favorites like “Cartwheel” and “Thumbs.” Partway through, she shouted out her family and friends in the crowd, before dedicating “Pillar of Truth” to her dad for his birthday. The song, off her 2018 album Historian, hadn’t been performed live since 2019. The arrangement started with just a solo harp, then slowly pulled in winds and brass, as the crowd erupted, before mellowing back out with just the harp. Right after came “No Thank You, I Love You, Goodbye,” a track Dacus wrote back during the No Burden sessions and released as a studio single in September 2026 to accompany the 10th-anniversary reissue of that album.

When she got to “Forever Is a Feeling,” the title track of her latest album, Dacus walked out onto the arched catwalk stretching into the crowd, closer to the audience than she’d been all night. She closed the main set with “Night Shift,” with the entire crowd singing along word for word, before embracing and bowing alongside Wilkins, leaving the crowd wanting more as she left the stage. The chanting brought her back out one last time, now with a beautiful and grand cape thrown over her black sparkly ball gown, for a final encore of “Historians” that ended the night with a lasting standing ovation.
