The Pavilion At Toyota Music Factory in Irving, TX — October 11, 2026

On Sunday, October 11th, South Korean indie-rock band wave to earth ended the North American leg of their the pieces tour in Irving, Texas. Over the past few years, wave to earth has garnered a bit of a cult following; fans lined up for hours outside of The Pavilion at Toyota Music Factory for a chance to see their favorite band perform from up close. There were all kinds of banners, flags, and handmade signs people brought in to hold up during quiet moments of the show. These heartfelt messages, in combination with how loudly the crowd sang along to the performances, made it clear the band is well loved. wave to earth loves their fans in turn, each member making it a point to verbalize their appreciation for the support they receive in between songs. They even sent a little paper airplane with the Korean word for “thank you” into the crowd.

The performance itself was incredible. To account for their music’s jazz elements, the trio—vocalist and guitarist Daniel Kim, bassist John Cha, and drummer Dong Q—tour with two additional members, saxophonist Jeon Min and keyboardist Van Sion. The best part of the show, by far, was seeing the five jam out on stage together during long instrumental breakdowns, visibly happy and so passionate. The warm lighting and cozy set only added to the joy that filled the space. The show was made even more special knowing that it would be the last time wave to earth would tour in the United States for the next few years, as each member would be taking time to work on other projects. Dallas was lucky to be the bittersweet end to a beautiful tour.
